The
next best thing to breakfast in bed is breakfast at the "Beach
Garden Cafe". Aptly named, this wonderful waterfront restaurant
plays host to a garden of San Clemente's colorful locals, as well as
tourists looking for great food, the company of interesting people and
the ambiance of seashore indoor-outdoor dining.
Mike and
Sue McGeary, also owners of the pier market next store, purchased the
Beach Garden in 1996 and it's easy to see with Sue's friendly, outgoing
personality and a staff to match, why she was named the "best place
for breakfast in San Clemente" by Sun Post Columnist, John Hall.
The Beach Garden has also taken awards at the last six "Annual
Seafest:" cook-offs on the San Clemente Pier.
"Blintzes
Are Back", Sue announces. "The first Sunday of the month,
November through May, we'll be serving our delicious cheese blintzes".
Customer service is first on Sue's priorities, she is proud of her well
trained crew and confident in her menu, leaving her too busy herself
by making sure every guest is happy.
The
cafe only takes up half of Sue's time, you'll find her at soccer, little
league and playing taxi to her sons, Scott and Matt, the rest of her
day. "I love being a Mom, the cafe hours give me the time to always
be there for my family", Sue says proudly.
According
to Sue, the thing she likes most about the cafe is that she gets to
talk to people all day long...at the beach!
